Polito: A politician who actually works for the people

To the Editor:

On November 2nd, I am voting for Karyn Polito for State Treasurer. After learning her background, it is clear that Rep. Polito is not your average politician. I am tired of politicians who get elected term after term even though they produce nothing of value- they are too scared to stand up for anything and too lazy to put in the work to champion a real cause.

Karyn Polito, on the other hand, has taken on many tough issues while an elected official, small business owner and working wife and mother of two- truly the opposite of the laziness associated with Beacon Hill. She worked hard to pass Jessica’s Law to better protect our children from sex offenders, advocated strongly for lower taxes and small businesses, and served diligently in her community all while never missing a vote!

Now, instead of sitting back and taking comfort in the incumbency she enjoys as State Representative in her hometown, Rep. Polito is standing up to run for Treasurer when Massachusetts really needs her fiscal conservancy the most. She has a record of fiscal conservancy, but she hasn’t rested on that either. She stood up, alone, to legislative leadership because they wanted to pass a $420 million spending bill (with $11 million in pay raises!) in the darkness of night without a required vote!

Her work ethic, steadfastness and commitment to making tough decisions to improve the financial crisis facing our state, make Karyn Polito the best choice for our next State Treasurer.
