Learn about walking to stop cancer at Relay For Life at PartyLite on Feb. 29

Cancer walk happens at Plymouth South High in June

Summer may seem like an eternity away, but planning is already underway for the Relay For Life of Greater Plymouth in June. Residents are invited to the next meeting for this “walk around the clock” to stop cancer on Wednesday, Feb. 29, at 7 p.m. at PartyLite in Plymouth.

People interested in forming teams and organizing new teams will learn more about the Relay For Life and what is expected of them. Relay leaders will review general information about the event, how to use the website and also about fundraising.

This session will also include information on how individuals can volunteer, where survivors can get support and what businesses can do as sponsors. The meeting will be held at PartyLite, 59 Armstrong Road in the Plymouth Industrial Park. The company is a major sponsor and participant in this annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

The Relay For Life of Greater Plymouth takes place Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23, at Plymouth South High School. Last year, more than 700 walkers and 125 cancer survivors participated in this important fundraiser to stop cancer. The event covers the towns of Plymouth, Carver, Kingston, Plympton and Pembroke.
