The hand that rocks the cradle holds the purse

We're Open for Business, Bring the Kids!
Stop the "Ban the Kids" movement before it starts

Plymouth is one of the premier kid-friendly tourism destinations in the nation. From our stunning beaches, to family-owned ice cream shops, adventure golf courses, bike trails and more - the whole South Shore from Plymouth to Provincetown is an ideal place to vacation with the whole family.

Our hotels, motels and family restaurants go out of their way to accommodate families with young children. The local malls and other shopping establishments often provide plenty of entertainment for the kids on rainy days, and Plymouth is "America's Hometown" and provides unique opportunities for kids to experience our nation's history in so many engaging ways.

When you ban kids you ban their parents too

The hand that pushes the carriage holds the purse.

In recent days there has been some buzz about a Pennsylvania restaurant that now bans children under six from the premises.  This was followed with word that the “no-kids-allowed movement” may be spreading.  Hotels, cinemas and even a grocery chain are setting limits on when and if parents can bring their little ones across the threshold.

Some have asked if it's illegal for a restaurant to ban children. The short answer is "no". Children, per se, are not a legally protected group like senior citizens, minorities or the disabled. It is illegal to bar senior citizens or someone who uses a mobility device but a business owner is within her rights (if not her right mind) to bar children.

We haven't heard of any business in Plymouth or Cape Cod that bans children, and we're proud of that. Tourism accounts for the lion's share of all business revenue around here each year. Look around when you're doing the errands and see how many of those out-of-state cars have one or more little kids on board. Tourism means kids!

It's a great summer here on the South Shore!

We're open for business and our business is to provide a great vacation for you and your kids!
