Fire at Wareham motel considered suspicious
No one hurt, but 12 people now homeless
WAREHAM-A Saturday night fire at a Cranberry Highway motel is considered suspicious according to investigators.
Wareham Week reports that firefighters who first arrived on scene at the Silver Lake Motel saw smoke coming from the basement and a quickly spreading fire. “"the fire is suspicious in nature and was possibly set intentionally," according to the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
No one was hurt in the blaze, which forced out 12 people residing at the motel.
Anyone with information regarding the fire should contact the Onset Fire Department at 508-295-2122, the Wareham Police Department at 508-295-1212, or the state Fire Marshal's office arson hotline at 1-800-682-9229.
