Duxbury school building project gets manager

Providence company declined work in other community

Duxbury is hiring a Providence-based firm, which recently ran into a disagreement with another town, to oversee its multi-million dollar school building project.

The Duxbury Clipper reports that Dimeo Construction will serve as construction manager-at-risk for the co-located middle and high school planned for the site of the current middle school.

Dimeo had been hired to work on Methuen’s new high school, but stepped away from that project when it disagreed with the city’s decision to cap the project at $75.4 million. Duxbury officials were unconcerned with Dimeo’s problems with Methuen, one noting that it showed the company was “smart.”
