Elizabeth Warren to attend caucus

Corned beef and corny jokes on the menu 

State Treasurer Steve Grossman will be guest host of the Plymouth County Democratic League's St. Patrick's Day Dinner at the Halifax Country Club, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. 

Grossman will speak about financial issues

State Treasurer Steve Grossman visits Duxbury, Tuesday, Feb. 28, for a forum sponsored by Duxbury Democratic Town Committee.

Democratic Town Committees in the area are holding caucuses to elect delegates to the party's state convention on June 2 in Springfield. The convention will nominate a candidate for the U.S. Senate. All registered Democrats as of December 31 are welcome to participate.

Democrat seeks rematch with Webster

Josh Cutler, Candidate for State Representative, will be hosting an organizational meeting, Sunday, March 4 at 5 Jp.m. at the home of Karen and Ling Wong, 58 Meetinghouse Road, Duxbury.

Cutler, a Democrat, is expected to challenge State Represntative Daniel Webster, R-Pembroke, this year.

Scott Brown is featured speaker

The Plymouth County GOP is holding its 3rd annual recognition awards breakfast Saturday, Feb. 11 at 9 a.m. at the Monponsett Inn in Halifax.

Senator Scott Brown is the guest speaker. He is expected to be joined by other local officials, including District Attorney Tim Cruz and Sheriff Joe McDonald.

The event honors members of each town Republican committee that have made a notable contribution to the party.

Tickets are $20.

Congressman seeks to represent reconfigured 9th congressional district 

The Bill Keating Committee is holding a Plymouth County Organizational Meeting, Saturday, February 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Plymouth Public Library, 132 South Street, Plymouth. For information, contact Michael Jackman at michael@billkeating.org. 

Keyes continues bid for Therese Murray's seat

The Committee to Elect Tom Keyes announced that they will host a meet and greet with their candidate on Monday, February 4 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Trowbridge Tavern Canal Room, 100 Trowbridge Road in Bourne.

UPDATE: Supporters rally, police do not act. Demonstrators and their supporters began gathering in Dewey Square hours before the deadline. Occupy groups from Worcester and Providence, R.I., helped swell the ranks, along with university students, a group of Quakers and some veterans, including a Marine in full dress uniform.
