17-year student on bus transported to Tobey Hospital

WAREHAM - A 17-year-old student was injured Friday, February 3, when the driver of a 2002 Dodge Neon crashed into the back his school bus.  Around 2:30 p.m., 18-year-old Drew Sylvia of East Wareham, crashed his Neon into the back of the school bus on Marion Road at Viking Drive.

The bus driver was waiting to turn left onto Viking Drive when Sylvia struck the bus, according to police.

WAREHAM-A town school bus was involved in an accident on Marion Road Friday afternoon.

According to a police statement, a 17-year-old student, who was the only passenger, was taken to Tobey Hospital complaining of neck pain. The bus was hit from the rear by a 2002 Doge Neon, causing extensive damage to the front of the car. The bus was stopped, waiting to turn onto Viking Drive.

Driver was allegedly drunk

A Plymouth man who has had his license revoked or suspended 23 times faces numerous charges stemming from an accident that sent two women to the hopsital.

The Patriot Ledger reports William E. Vonberg IV, 41, of Anchor Drive, was charged with two counts of negligent drunken driving causing serious injury and one count each of drunken driving, negligent driving, driving with an open container of alcohol, and violating marked lanes.

Plymouth police were able to help their brethren in Portsmouth, R.I. solve a  string of car break-ins in in that town.

According to the EastBayRi.com, Plymouth police found several GPS devices at a pawn shop in town. A check of information on them connected them to owners in Portsmouth who had reported them stolen.
