Boy Scouts of America Old Colony Council Names James Corcoran Director of Development
Eagle Scout brings wide experience in fundraising
Kingston resident James R. Corcoran, Jr. has been hired as Director of Development for the Boy Scouts of America Old Colony Council.
Corcoran has more than 18 years of experience in the not-for-profit industry as a fundraiser and manager. In his new position, he will develop and implement a strategic plan to raise funds for vital youth programs provided by the Boy Scouts Old Colony Council.
Corcoran recently served as Regional Director of Institutional Giving and Development Operations for the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts, where he was responsible for more than $7 million annually. He He is also no stranger to the Boy Scouts. He is an Eagle Scout and he worked as Director of Finance Service for the Boy Scouts Boston Minuteman Council. He serves as an executive board member of the Boy Scouts of America.
“James has a track record of excellence in cultivating partnerships that allow non-profits achieve success in their fundraising efforts, said Richard Stritzinger, Chief Executive of the Boy Scouts Old Colony Council. “I am confident James will enhance our fundraising abilities, and improve the programs that serve boys and their families in our area.”
He resides in Kingston with his wife and two children.
