Saturday Snowfall

1-4" Of Snow Possible

We will at least look wintry now as the snow falls for most of the day today.

However, the experts are backing off the larger snowfall totals, as it appears that heavier bands will stay out at sea. A sort of average of the forecasts I read puts 2-4" down in our coverage area.

Plymouth County will get it worse than Cape Cod will, as Cape Cod will be a bit closer to the edge of the storm (and her warmer air) and further from the edge of the cold front pushing down on us.

WHDH and WCVB both have Cape Cod in the 2-4" range, with Plymouth County (and the village of Buzzards Bay, where I'm at presently) getting the most of it. Accuweather went from giving B-Bay 3.9 inches of snow last night to 4.6 inches today.

It began to rain around 10 PM last night, and turned over to snow just before daybreak. We started off with big fat flakes falling heavily, but we now have flurries of tiny flakes. It is 34 degrees in my yard. The snow/sleet line looks to be about Barnstable at 8 AM. Provincetown and Orleans look to be all rain atm.

Check the latest radar right here.

We will get some winds, although there isn't any sort of coastal flood advisory on us at the moment. If you live directly on the coast, keep an eye on things.

When that cold front hits, you'll know it. Temps will plunge into the teens tonight, and struggle to get into the 20s tomorrow. Monday doesn't look much better, but things return to the 40s Tuesday.

We'll be back with an update and maybe another radar shot if need be later in the day.
