One Lane In Each Direction



The Sagamore Bridge will be undergoing repairs today, and there will be lane restictions in place until the project is completed.


An $8.5 million US Army Corps of Engineers project is doing extensive repairs on both the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges. This time, it's Sagamore. They're repairing some steel on the bridge.

Wins Girls Division 2 State Championship


Duxbury High School's girls hockey teamwas taking no shorts today at the Gahhhden, straight handling a game gaggle of grrrls from Falmouth. The final score was 3-1.


Hannah Murphy, who just may be the best player in the state, banged in 2 goals to lead the Green Dragons. Liz Collins netted the game winner, and Friend Weiler coached the whole thing.

New England was eliminated from the NCAA tournament with the defeat of both Harvard and defending champion UConn.

Harvard was the 12th seed, and took on #5 Vanderbilt. Vandy is often called the Harvard of the South, but it is only so in the manner that Orleans is the New Orleans of the North.

First off, I'd like to address the Boston Globe's mad disrepeck of Cape Cod in their high school sports coverage. I didn't get to attend the Falmouth/Westwood girl's hockey game, so I went to the Globe to find the pertinent info. The Globe notes that Falmouth beat Westwood, but it only lists the goal scorers from Westwood.

Recently, this column ran a piece on efforts to help out the family of Evangeline Fox, a sweet little girl who is suffering from Leukemia.

Evangeline's mom is struggling to handle all the expenses that come up when your child is sick, and we essentially went trolling for angels in this column.

The best part about trolling is that you pull up a fish now and then.
