Bachmann's misfire heard 'round the world
Freedom, Ignorance & Satanic Right Wing Dingbats
The Curious & Disturbed Mind of Minnesota Congresswoman Rep.Michele Bachman and the idiots in the Republican Party who think that Ronald Reagan's Speech in Support of Collective Bargaining in Poland ought not to apply in the United States
That shot heard around the world in the Battle of Lexington & Concord was in Lexington & Concord "New Hampshire" according to Ms. Bachman, see Boston Herald here, and listen to the complete speech here.
She not only thinks the Battles of Lexington and Concord were in New Hampshire, she seems to think the Pligrims stepped on a rock there too.
Republicans need to get new computers.
Spell check is not enough. Calling Microsoft. Can Bill Gates and his team provide new Historical Fact Check PC's with a right wing skew so that when their ‘leader(s) slip up, ignore or otherwise mangle the historical record, the PC might prompt them to either correct it or to more properly mask their idiocy/fraudulence? I am not a political professional but seriously who are these people? Who do they hire as their speech writers and media pro's?
Let me be rather clear, I have sincere doubts about Minnesota Representative Michele Bachman's fitness for a civil service job of any kind in the United States given that as a sitting Republican Congresswoman, she is unfamiliar with basic facts about the Revolutionary War in America that any fifth grader in Appalachia would know.
How this woman can pontificate as a beacon of freedom and liberty while holding up a tea bag speaking before members of her own party in New Hampshire, when she presumably had time to prepare for an important speech and yet mistakes New Hampshire for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as the site of the battle of Lexington & Concord and the shot heard around the world, is literally beyond me.
Ok, so in fairness, maybe some Brooklynites might think that 'the shot heard around the world' references Bobby Thomson's homer off Ralph Branca in the Polo Grounds in 1951 to win the National League Pennant. But seriously are our folks becoming so dumb down that they are willing to put in Congress fruitcakes, dingbats and other mental midgets who might get smoked in a debate by kids eating Happy Meals at McDonald's? WTF is going on in America? Will Michele Bachman next appear on "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader"?
Will Jeff Foxworthy's next gag line be: "You know you're a red neck when Michele Bachman is somebody you pull a lever for in a voting booth."
"Collective Bargaining is an American ideal", Ronald Reagan
In another video you can see on You Tube Reagan gave a speech in Support of Unions and Collective Bargaining in "Poland". Imagine if Lech Walsea was from Wisconsin rather than Poland. He would be on the News being portrayed by right wing media as embodiment of what is wrong with the world. The right in America right thinks that those freedoms should not apply in the United States and at least not in Wisconsin. Did they pick the wrong place for this fight, the state where the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers are a non-profit community owned NFL franchise? This is a state that seems to get that what goes around comes around. Governor Walker and some local Republicans ought not to feel so secure even if they win the battle, mark my words 'they will surely lose the war.'
My local Republican friend believes that the speech of his hero, the man whose life and political philosophy is his veritable Raison d'être, seems to think that Ronald Reagan was not referring to that evil of municipal workers being given the right to negotiate in good faith, but only to the right workers in Poland.
I see. How fascinating indeed. An American President believes that workers in foreign lands ought to have more rights and be treated more fairly than his countrymen? I seriously want to know how the simple process of collective bargaining has become so demonized as some leftist liberal construct. What's next? Do we bring black slavery because it will enhance corporate profitability? Forget resumes, new employers can just come to your home town, capture you, throw you in a cell give you 3 squares a day while keeping you under lock down at their factory. Seems fair no? Human rights are a pain in the ass. They force us to compromise what we value, our profits. The degradation and devaluation of those who do the work will ultimately be the undoing of a great society.
